Everyone can get sick and as a self-employed person it is important to be aware of what applies to sick pay. Here we go through the most important if you should get sick during a mission.
If you become ill during an ongoing assignment, please let us know on Shoutly the same day. Send an email to contact@shoutly.com and inform us of your illness and when you expect to be able to return to work.
As a self-employed employee through Shoutly, you are entitled to sickness benefit from the first day of your employment, which means from the day your assignment starts. This applies to assignments lasting at least one month. If your assignment is shorter, you may still be entitled to sickness benefit, provided that you have been employed for at least 14 working days and that you have proof that the work you were to perform was agreed before you became ill.
There may be special rules depending on your work situation. If you have any questions about whether you are qualified to receive sick pay via Shoutly, please feel free to contact us.
If you are sick for more than seven days, you will need to submit a medical certificate starting from the eighth sick day in order to continue receiving sick pay. The doctor's certificate should confirm that you are sick and cannot perform your assignment, as well as indicate how long the illness is expected to last.
The medical certificate is sent to our mail - contact@shoutly.com. Medical certificates should be issued by a doctor or dentist depending on the nature of the disease. Certificates from, for example, nurses or physiotherapists are not accepted.
How do I get a medical certificate?
You need to visit a doctor who, after his examination, issues a medical certificate. You can usually find the certificate at 1177 Vårdguidens service under “My certificates”.
Why do I need a medical certificate?
To receive sick pay, a doctor needs to confirm that you are too sick to work. This is a requirement for us to be able to pay sick pay.
Where can I see a doctor for a medical certificate?
You can book an appointment with your nearest health centre via 1177 Vårdguide. If you have problems with your teeth, consult a dentist who can also issue a medical certificate.
